Boats Regulations

If you have brought a boat / jet ski with you, please take a moment to read this letter and the attached regulations.

Caribbean Estates is bounded by a beautiful conservation area and we are therefore "caretakers" of this special place.  The beach is considered part of the reserve, and there are therefore certain restrictions in place.

Firstly your craft must be licensed before it is put on the river.  This can be done at the Old Pont Holiday Resort.  Jet Ski's now also have to be registered with the Provisional Jet ski Association, which gives licenses with a JSA number.  A valid Skippers License, Floatation Certificate and a Certificate of fitness are all compulsory, and must be with the Skipper at all times.

We suggest that you launch direct from the Old Pont Holiday Resort further inland - there are two good slipways there, petrol is available, and there are great braai facilities plus a riverside bar.

We have permission to launch a limited number of boats per day from the Estate. Bookings for launches can be made via reception. These must be arranged in advance, and are subject to the availability of the Estate staff and vehicles at a fee, which is payable at Reception.  Please let us have sufficient notice to avoid your disappointment.

Please note that the current law bans ALL vehicles from the beaches.  Understandably, this is to protect our beautiful coastline.  Please be advised that Protection Services or the Police may impound any vehicle found on the beach!!!!
